Thank you for your understanding during some difficult weather this term. We have had some great supporting comments from parents during this term - thank you ! . The summer term is late starting due to the clash with Easter and the Cheshire County Swimming Championships over 2 weekends in March/April. As a way of maintaining progress we aim to offer a range of crash courses which you can sign up for at the desk - these will focus on starts and turns and individual stroke development. Sessions will only run if we are able to get sufficient support.

Lisa as Head Coach And Abi as Swim Class Coordinator have oversight and responsibility for the staffing and planning of the swimming lesson programme at Satellites Swimming Club. In 2010 we will continue to evaluate the progress of the lesson structure and build a team that can deliver the quality of lessons that both the committee the ASA and the parents wish to see.

Classes are structured in line with the ASA (NPTS) National Plan for Teaching Swimming (see below) Starting with Stages 1-7 and then additionally focused on competitive swimming in stages 8-10 in the main pool and moving into the main competitive club through additional hour classes run during the week. This accelerates progress in later Stages and introduces the swimmer to longer distance swimming putting the emphasis on improving technique along with learning to train consistently in a structured coaching session. Charges for coaching are significantly lower than teaching and paid monthly by standing order.

Classes run throughout the year in line with school terms : September-December, January- April, April - July

NB No lessons during the month of August as the club is closed for the summer holidays.

Please remember the Satellites club is run by volunteers and is a 'not for profit' organization. We have around 160 swimmers in regular lessons and we ask for your patience with paperwork and enrolment procedures.

Those working on the desk are not qualified to answer specific questions related to an individual child's progress or class allocation. These issues can only be addressed by a teacher/coach.

However we do recognize these questions are important and we will have a query form where you can make notes and requests for further information from the coach concerned, they will then contact you directly.

Fees will be in line with a 10 or 12 week course - Additional child discount applies at 10%.

All general enquiries relating to swim class payments or booking of sessions can be addressed in writing to the Club Secretary/Treasurer who will deal with matters arising on an individual basis.
