Swimmers Log Book

This has been devised by your coaches in line with ASA and SWIM21 guidelines and will enable swimmers to log and maintain training records on a session by session basis. it will also act as a record of competition entries/times goals

and targets.

This has been printed and bound commercially and is an important addition to the Athlete Development module of SWIM21. These new log books should be adopted from March 2011 and they will be checked and monitored by your coaches periodically.

They are available from the club desk at cost - £1.00 each

Crib Sheets and Crib Sheet guidance notes - these are in the members area for you to complete to aid your training program. If you need help please ask and if you do not have access to a laminator we can do this at the pool on request.

A safety reminder : On no occasion should any Satellites Swimmers enter the water until a member of coaching staff is on the deck - regardless of whether a public session is also in progress. If there is a delay in staff arriving please undertake warm up protocols as per your normal pre training routine poolside. A member of the committee wiil nearly always be on hand to arrange suitable cover if required - failing this the duty manager at the pool should be informed. Thank you

Safety Message

Plastic bottles of the kind used with energy drinks often include a detachable clear plastic top as illustrated above. It has been brought to our attention by coaches that they can present a choking hazard to swimmers in the water. Once in the water the tops become almost invisible Coaches will remove these tops if they see them poolside.

Important Security Reminder.

Please do not leave any items of clothing or kit in the boys or girls changing rooms during training sessions or swimming lessons. Either use the lockers provided or take your things poolside in a kit bag. Although we hire the entire pool during training times and no one should be in the changing rooms -the building remains open to the general public and is difficult to secure. Please all parents be vigilant and if you see anyone acting suspiciously alert the leisure centre management immediately.

Land Training notice:

Would parents of swimmers undertaking land-training prior to main club sessions please ensure that a Club Coach is in attendance prior to leaving their swimmer at either the Leisure centre entrance or the athletics track. Whilst every attempt is made to ensure staff attend as planned, occasionally through circumstances beyond our control Coaches do get delayed or have to cancel at very short notice. Where cancelations are known in advance we will do our utmost to inform the parents concerned. Thank you for your co-operation.
