Raffle Requests.
We are running 3 Raffles for the CheethamLambert and the Satellites Open Meet galas - these will be the Satellites Chocolate Hampers- always popular and well supported. The first event is on the 25th of Feb so please can everyone make a small donation if possible to help with these fundraising events. Hand in at the desk or to committee on the balcony. Thank you
Sputnik Round 2
Entries can now be handed in for the next SPUTNIK on 18th February 2012. The SPUTNIK is designed to introduce swimmers to competition in a friendly club environment. All swimmers from CAG2 Friday's Group, JD1, JD2, and Stage 8 should endeavour to enter. Any swimmers from Stage 6 and 7 are also welcome to enter. Please hand in your entry forms by Sunday 12th February 2012.
FAQ:
1. The teams will be rejigged per round - so any swimmers who couldn't enter last time may still enter the remaining rounds.
2. The point scores for the following rounds will be based on whether it is a swimmers first time of swimming or on their improvement from the previous round.
3. Certificates are handed out on the night to the winning teams in each stroke and distance - the winning individuals for each age group will be presented with medals on the final round of competition.
Schools Biathlon Semi Finals Macclesfield well done to the Satellites swimmers who were competing for their schools this weekend at the Biathlon. Great to see so many Satellites caps in the water. Results for the events are here (semi final 2 Macclesfield). The following Satellites swimmers have automatically qualified for the British Championships on 25th March at Crystal Palace by finishing in the top 6: Ben Arkle, Tom Arkle, Tom Guillon, Katie Hughes, Rebecca Hughes, Dani Lomas and Charlotte Taylor. Many others finished high up the rankings and will need to wait until all of the semi-finals have taken place to find out whether they have also qualified. Well done to all. LA

Well done to all our swimmers for a great weekend's competitive swimming at the North Mids Championships. Some fantastic individual performances and a substantial haul of medals and pb's across the board.
All the detail and analysis now posted in Coach Talk.. The club would like to thank the coaches, team managers and parents working as officials, for a great team effort on pooside. Finally a big thank you from Lisa to the parents on the balcony collating swimmers statistics.

Satellites are extrememly proud to announce that Satellites Club President and founding member - Val Mellor has been awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours List for Services to Swimming in the North West. (Macclesfield, Cheshire).
Congratulations Val from all at Satellites !!
Unwanted training kit collection:
Please can you check and see if you have unused/unwanted good quality training equipment at home - for example - fins/ floats/paddles/costumes/pullbuoys etc and bring any unwanted items to the club desk. We are hoping to set up a 'used kit sale' for fundraising purposes and hopefully we can all clear some much need space in the cupboards at home at the same time !

Cat 1 total fee for 12 months is £26.00
This Category applies to all swimmers in Competitive Development (Stages 8&9) and any other swimmer who is 8 years or younger. (ASA Cat 1 £7.40 + £1Cheshire County + £5.50 North West Region = £13.90 Satellites membership £12.10 - total of £ 26)
Cat 2 total fee for 12 months is £60.00
This Category applies to all swimmers in Junior Development and above, unless they are 8 years or younger this year.
(ASA Cat 2 £24.20 + £1 Cheshire County + £ 5.50 North West Region = £30.90 Satellites membership will be £ 29.10 - total £60)
Category 3 Fee – 12 months is £10.60
This Category applies to Coaches/ teachers/ Officials/Committee/parents who wish to become voting members..
(ASA Cat 3 £4.20 + £1 Cheshire County + £ 5.50 North West Region = £10.60)
These fees are the same as last year despite increases in fees by the ASA - the club has decided to absorb the increase rather than pass this on to the membership at this year. Payment is due by 31st January at the latest please.

Cheshire Junior Meet
Weekend Round up Nov 26th 27th
Congratulations to Issy Centelghe who on Saturday qualified for the British Gas ASA Championships (50m)
(Qualifying meet for Olympic Games) on the 50 Fly, and Sunday qualified for the Nationals in July on the 100 Fly .On saturday she needed 29.54 and swam 29.53, and today she needed 1:06.17 and swam 1:05.77!! WELL DONE ISSY - A Great Weekend!!
Megan Short, Katie Hughes and Rebecca Huighes were also competing this weekend. Megan PB'd in all her events at the DSE National Short Course Event in Sheffield and came away with a Silver Medal in the 100 Backstroke and a Bronze in the 100 Breaststroke. Katie and Rebecca were competing at the Nuneaton and Bedworth Winter Open and came away with 14 Regional Times between them (see the Regionals Page for an update). Rebecca won 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals, while Katie won 2 Gold, 2 Silver, 2 Bronze Medals. Well done to everyone competing this weekend!
