Lisa Atkinson (Head Coach) Farouk Graba, Steve Vaughan-Parry This programme is geared up for National Swimmers who have gained National Qualifying Times and are usually of 13 years or older although exceptions are made dependent on ability. 2009 saw the group gain 4 National Age Group Swimmers, 1 National Youth Swimmer and 2 national swimmers in the 2 relays we qualified for at the AG North West Regions.
In September 2009 Senior Coach Farouk Graba was interviewed for a place on the Advanced Coaching Offer programme run by Swim North West and the ASA. It was confirmed in mid October that Farouk was successful in this application - this will have benefits to both coaches and swimmers at Satellites Swimming Club and will provide additional support for key areas of the coaching programme.
Liz Mirrlees, Nick Trude, Roberta Sanderson & Christine Thwaites This group is overseen by four coaches who undertake a programme of competitive swim development set by the Head Coach with a view to establishing consitent development of skills and progression throughout the club training structure. Transition group (Swimmers who are new to club competitive swimming and have migrated from the teaching classes or other local teaching groups) Lanes 1 and 2 in the MAIN POOL consists of swimmers who are aged 8-12 years old and are starting to enter into regular training commitments of 3 - 5 hrs and are beggining to enter galas on a regular basis. Lanes 3-4 which have swimmers from the ages 9-13 and are familiar with most Level 2 competitons and have attained qualifying times for these meets. (Lanes 1-2 and the transition group aim for the Level 2 and 3 competitions but are more at the Level 3 standard, developing towards Level 2).
